Caitlyn Marie Jenner, formerly Bruce, is an American reality TV star and retired track and field athlete. She was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949, in Mount Kisco, New York. She announced her gender change in an interview with Diane Sawyer on 20/20/2015.
Profession
Jenner attended Newtown High School in Connecticut, where she played football, basketball and track and field. She later attended Graceland College in Iowa on a football scholarship. She played for the Graceland Yellowjackets, but a knee injury prompted her to switch to athletics. Jenner trained and competed in the Olympic decathlon. She won gold medals at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City and the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Dubbed “the greatest athlete in the world,” she went on to pursue a career in television.
Jenner made her big screen debut in the 1980 musical comedy film Can’t Stop the Music. The film did poorly at the box office and went on to win the Worst Picture award. Jenner has since appeared on CHiPs, Celebrity Family Feuds, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and her own reality series “I Am Kate.”
