Burt Reynolds is an American actor, television producer and director. His outstanding film projects include “Rescue” (1972), “Smokers and Robbers” (1977), “Cannonball Escape” (1981) and “Unruly Nights” (1997). He has played important roles in TV shows such as Riverboat, Gunsmoke, Hawk, Dan August and Evening Shade. Reynolds was born on February 11, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan, his original name is Burton Leon Reynolds Jr.. His father Burton Milo Reynolds (died 2002) was a police chief, and his mother Fern H. Miller (died 1992) was a nurse. He has an older sister, Nancy, and an adopted brother, Jimmy. The family moved to Florida in 1946. Reynolds attended Palm Beach High School, followed by Florida State University. He was an excellent football player, but a knee injury ended his career.
