PGA Tour debut

De Chambord made his debut on the PGA Tour as an amateur at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in June 2015. There, he was tied for 45th place. Subsequently, he participated in his first major at the US Open, but failed to qualify by only four shots. Before becoming a professional player, DeChambeau participated in various competitions, including the 2015 Australian Masters, where he was tied for runner-up, behind Peter Senior.

The beginning of a career

After playing the 2016 Masters, De Chambeau turned into a professional player and signed a long-term agreement with Cobra-Puma Golf. A few days later, he made his debut at RBC Heritage, tied for fourth place, earning approximately US$260,000. After that, he entered the US Open and tied for 15th. Although he was unable to qualify for the 2017 PGA Tour, De Chambeau was able to win a place in the finals of the Web.com Tour. Thanks to his victory in the DAP tournament, he managed to get his card. A major victory followed. DeChambeau defeated Patrick Rogers by one shot at the John Deere Classic in July 2017 and won his first PGA Tour championship. The following summer, he won a sudden death playoff at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, which gave him his second tour victory. Significant victories have since been achieved, including victories in the Northern Trust and the Dell Technical Championship. The latter’s victory put DeChambeau ahead of second player Dustin Johnson by more than 2,000 points in the FedEx Cup rankings and made him the number one seed player in the Tour Championship. However, after finishing 19th in the Tour Championship, De Chambeau fell to third in the FedEx Cup.

In the 2018 Ryder Cup, DeChambeau was appointed captain of the US team by Jim Furyk. In the end, the European team defeated the American team, and De Chambeau lost the singles match with Alex Noren.
