Brigitte Macron is a retired high school teacher and current French First Lady. She is the wife of current French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron was born Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux on April 13, 1953 in Amiens, France. She has five older siblings. Her late parents, Simone and Jean Trogneux, were chocolatiers. Owns five generations of Chocolaterie Trogneux (now known as Jean Trogneux). They are best known for their macarons.

Ms Macron started her teaching career in the 1980s. She teaches literature at the Lucy Berger Academy in Strasbourg. In 1992, she met her future husband while teaching at Lycee la Providence, a Jesuit high school. There she taught French and Latin. She is also the head of the drama club. Ms Macron ran an unsuccessful campaign for Truchtesheim city council in 1989. She returned to the political front in 2016-17 to support her husband’s presidential bid. She has worked as a political consultant and strategist.
