Brian Shaw was born on February 26, 1982 in Fort Lapton, Colorado; he is the son of Jay Shaw and his wife Bonnie. He attended Fort Lupton High School, during which he played basketball and was a very successful player.
After the foundation course, Brian attended Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado. There, he accepted Bob Austin’s basketball coach and became one of the best players on the team. His next stop was Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, where he won a full basketball scholarship. Bryan’s career began in 2005. Without any professional preparation, he participated in the Denver’s Strongest Men’s Tournament in October of that year. He was finally named the winner and became a professional player a few months later. His first game was the strongest men’s game in North America in 2007, and he won second place.
His first world strongest men’s competition was in 2008, but he did not achieve major results, which changed when he finished third in 2009.
Rise
Gradually, Brian got better and better. He won the World’s Strongest Man and the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2011. He won the world’s strongest men’s championship three times in 2013, 2015 and 2016, and he only finished sixth in 2019, which is his worst ranking.
