Borean’s net worth and salary: Bo Ryan is an American basketball coach who has a net worth of $8 million. He is currently the head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers basketball team, a position he has held since 2001. Prior to joining the Madison team, Ryan was the men’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Plattville from 1984 – 1999 and 1999-2001 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The Badgers appeared in the NCAA Tournament in Ryan’s 12 seasons and advanced to the Sweet 16 five times, including the Elite Eight in 2005. Ryan is one of only three coaches in NCAA Tournament history to lead him to the Big Ball in each of his first twelve seasons at a school. With Ryan at the helm, the Bards have never finished in the top four on the Big Ten list. Under Ryan’s leadership at UW-Madison, four of his former assistant coaches took over as Division I head coaches, and five former players also moved to assistant coaches. During the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Ryan scored his 700th victory in an 83-57 victory over Minnesota and a 64-63 overtime victory over Arizona State, and he also made his first Division I Division the top four. He has written three books: Borean: Another Mountain to Climb, Swing Attack and Passing and Catching: The Lost Art. Ryan was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia in December 1947. He attended Wilkes University, where he worked as a high-scoring linebacker, and earned a degree in business administration in 1969. He and his wife Kelly have five children: Meghan, Will, Matt, Brenner and Merlin.
