Bobby V is an American R&B singer, songwriter and music producer. He was formerly known as Bobby Valentino. He is best known for the singles “Slow Down” and “Anonymous”. His studio albums include Special Occasion (2007) and The Rebirth (2009). Bobby V was born on February 27, 1980 in Jackson, Mississippi. His parents are Margarett and Bobby L. Wilson. He has an older sister named Arle Michel. V grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended North Atlanta High School. He received a BA in Mass Communication from Clark Atlanta University in 2004.

Bobby V grew up listening to artists like Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. He joined the R&B group “Mista” in 1996. The group’s self-titled debut album was released in July 1996 by Elektra and East West Records. It produced the single “Blackberry Molasses” which peaked at number 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band disbanded in 1997. Bobby V’s self-titled debut solo album was released in April 2005. It is distributed by Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings. The album sold 64,000 copies in its opening week. V won two City Music Awards in 2009, including one for Best Male Artist. His other albums include Fly on the Wall (2011), Dusk Till Dawn (2012) and Hollywood Hearts (2016). He also released two EPs, Come With Me (2008) and Peach Moon (2013).
