Bobby Bones is an American radio celebrity and the host of the joint country music show The Bobby Bones Show. He is also a comedian, musician and writer. His records include The Raging Kidiots (2015) and The Critics Give It 5 Stars (2016). He has published two New York Times bestsellers: Bare Bones (2016) and Fail until You Don (2018). Bones, formerly known as Bobby William Estelle, was born on April 2, 1980 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His teenage mother, Pamela Hurt (died 2011), became pregnant when she was 15. According to reports, his biological father left when he was 5 years old. Bones grew up in poverty and was partly raised by his grandmother Hazel Hurt. He studied at Henderson State University in Akadelphia, Arkansas. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcasting and television in 2002.

Bones dreamed of becoming a radio DJ as early as 6 years old. He began to realize his dreams while studying at Henderson State University (HSU). His first notable live show was for HSU radio station KSWH-FM 91.1. He was 17 years old at the time. Bones started his career at KLAZ (105.9 FM), a contemporary radio station in Hot Springs, Arkansas. According to reports, he made $17,000 from his first full-time contract. Since 2002, he has worked briefly with “Q100/KQAR” and “Alice 107.7” in Little Rock. In 2002, Bones moved to Austin, Texas to work for KHFI-FM (96-7 KISS-FM). His iconic country music morning show “The Bobby Bones Show” premiered in February 2003. He eventually hired co-hosts Amy and Lunchbox.
Bones signed a contract with iHeartMedia Inc (formerly Clear Channel Media). The company moved the award-winning show from Austin to Nashville, Tennessee in the fall of 2012. It is now combined to approximately 100 stations by Premiere Networks. He was the host of the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Bones is one-half of the music duo Raging Idiots (and producer Eddie). His first EP The Raging Kidiots was released by Black River Entertainment in November 2015. It reached number 3 on the children’s album chart. His first studio album The Critics Give It 5 Stars was released in March 2016. The album is number 4 on the Country charts and has sold more than 12,000 copies. It was supported by the single “Starbucks!” And “We Can’t Tolerate Each Other” starring Carrie Underwood.
Bones made its debut in the musical comedy “Band Bash” (2009) starring Vanessa Hudgens, Ali Michalka and Galan Cornell. This film won the 2010 Gabriel Award for Best Family Film. Bones guest starred in 2 episodes of the ABC series “Nashville” (2013-14). He guest starred in many live episodes! With Regis and Kelly. His TV works also include “Fox and Friends”, “Today Show” and “Good Morning America”. Bones participated in the 27th season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and won the championship. He collaborated with professional ballroom dancer Sharna Burgess.
