As a junior golfer, Twee won the Reading Country Club Championship. He played golf at Oklahoma State University and was a three-time All-American. His team won the NCAA championship during his freshman year, and he was their star player during his junior year. He won the Haskins Award as a senior, then turned pro in 1981 and joined the PGA Tour in 1985. Starting in 1986, Tway won eight PGA Tour titles, including his only major. That year, he won the Shearson Lehman Brothers Andy Williams Open, the Manufacturers Hanover Westchester Classic, the Georgia-Pacific Atlanta Golf Classic and the PGA Championship. He also won the PGA Player of the Year award that year. In 1989, Twee won the Memorial Tournament, and the following year he won the Las Vegas Invitational. He won the 1995 MCI Classic and the 2003 Bell Canadian Open. In 1986 and 1987, Bob spent 25 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He finished 3rd at the 1998 US Open, 5th at the 1991 British Open and 8th at the 1986 Masters. Tway won the PGA Tour Comeback Player of the Year award in 1995. Twee joined the Champions Tour in 2009.
