In 1966, Snyder accepted a graduate assistant position at USC before returning to teach at various high schools. He became Austin’s offensive coordinator, then an assistant at North Texas, then returned to the offensive coordinator role, this time for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. In 1989, Snyder accepted the head coaching position at Kansas State University. He held the position until he left for three years in 2005, before being rehired in 2009. As of 2014, Snyder still runs programs at Kansas State University. He is 186-92-1 as head coach to date and 7-8 in bowl games. Snyder won two Big 12 championships and four Big 12 North titles.
