What is Bill Engvar’s Net Worth?
Bill Engvall is an American comedian and actor, best known as a member of the blue-collar comedy group. From 2007 to 2009, he starred in 30 episodes of “The Bill Engvar Show” which aired on TBS. Perhaps most notably, his daughter on the show is played by a young Jennifer Lawrence.
early life
Engvall was born on July 27, 1957 in Galveston, Texas. He attended Richardson High School and after graduation attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. There, he was pursuing a degree in education, hoping to become a teacher. He joined the Kappa Alpha Order and was very social, but eventually decided to leave the school before graduation. He then took on a series of odd jobs, such as a tour guide at the Inner Space Caverns and a disc jockey at a Dallas nightclub. At the same time, he also started attending open mic nights and testing the comedy material he had been producing.

Engvall’s interest in stand-up continued to develop until he moved to Southern California in 1990 to pursue comedy as a full-time career. He quickly found a job as the host of the cable TV show “A Pair of Jokers” with Rosie O’Donnell. He also appeared in The Golden Palace as Blanche’s son. He also started booking shows like “The Night of Impromptu,” “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
In 1992, Engvall was named Best Male Comedian at the American Comedy Awards. This helped further his career and increased his reputation. He was soon chosen as a regular on the ABC series “Delta.” The show lasted only one season, after which Engvall began performing stand-up comedy again. He then appeared on “The Jeff Foxworthy Show” in 1996 with his best friend and comic book partner, Jeff Foxworthy. That same year, he signed with Warner Bros. Records and released his first comedy album, which was a hit. Thanks to a collaboration with singer Travis Tritt, the album “Here’s Your Sign” was certified platinum and reached No. 5 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. Over the next few decades, he released eight more comedy albums.

In 2000, Engvall and Foxworthy embarked on the first of six blue-collar comedy tours that also included comedian Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. The tours were all very successful and went on to inspire radio shows and a TV series called “Blue Collar Television”.
Engvall’s other endeavors include hosting the reboot show “Lingo” on the GSN channel in 2011. He was inspired to take the job after his friend Foxworthy had success hosting “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”
In 2013, Engvall joined the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars alongside professional dancer Emma Slater. Ngvar scored relatively high points in the first few weeks of the game, but in the middle and end of the season, he was usually in the last or penultimate position. However, he has such a loyal fan base that he was able to stay on the show far longer than some of the other high-scoring contestants. He made it to the final and ended up in fourth place.
personal life
In 1982, Engvar married his wife Gail. They had a daughter named Emily in 1986 and a son named Travis in 1991. When not touring, Engvall lives primarily in Utah. Engvall began a degree in Christian Studies at Grand Canyon University and will complete it in 2021. He is also an ordained pastor.
In 2005, Bill and his wife built a custom home in Manhattan Beach, California. They sold the house in September 2015 for $5.2 million.
