Bertrand Berry was born in Houston, Texas in 1975 to an Irish who played college football for Notre Dame. The Indianapolis Colts selected Berry with the 86th overall pick in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft.
He continued to play for Indianapolis until 1999 when he signed a contract with the St. Louis Rams. The Rams waived Berry, who joined the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Huskies in 2000. After a stint in the CFL, he was signed by the Denver Broncos and he played at Mile High City until 2003. A year after Berry joined, the Arizona Cardinals became a free agent and played with the team until 2009. Berry went on to appear in career Pro Bowls with the Cardinals and earned All-Pro honors in the same season (2004). He led the NFC in the sack that year. In 2008, he was part of the Cards’ NFC championship team, even though the team lost to Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl. After retiring for the 2009 season, Berry finished his career with 232 tackles, 65 quarterback sacks and 13 forced turnovers.
