BB King is an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist who earned the nickname “King of the Blues”. He was born on September 16, 1925 in Berkeley, Mississippi. Kim grew up with his grandmother and got his first guitar when he was 12 years old. He worked as a disc jockey in Memphis, Tennessee, and began recording in 1949. From 1971 to 2009, he won 15 Grammy Awards, and a Grammy Concert Hall won the Hall of Fame Award for “The Thrill Is Gone” in 1998.
