What is Barry Manilow’s net worth?
Barry Manilow is an American singer and producer with a net worth of $100 million. After a career spanning more than half a century, Maniello has established himself as one of the most important musical figures in recent memory. Although Barry has recorded many of his own well-known hits, he is also a well-known songwriter and has written many hits for other artists such as Betty Midler and Dion Warwick.
To date, he has recorded 13 hits and an additional 13 platinum albums. Additionally, six of his albums have achieved multi-platinum status. Much of Barry’s net worth comes from recording commercials and songs for various TV commercials. He has worked with brands such as McDonald’s, Pepsi and Band-Aid. That being said, much of his wealth is the result of his record sales. early life
Barry Allen Pincus was born on June 17, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. Barry’s family is of both Jewish and Catholic descent. Barry grew up in Williamsburg’s Brooklyn neighborhood and graduated from high school in 1961. He first pursued higher education at the City College of New York before transferring to the New York Conservatory of Music. To pay for his tuition, he took a part-time job at CBS. Manilow completed his studies at The Juilliard School of Performing Arts, where he studied musical theatre.
Profession
Barry’s career began in 1964 when he met CBS director Bro Herrod. While Herrod originally asked Manilow to put several songs together to make the musical, Barry wrote the original score. His score was accepted, and the play ran for eight years. In these early days, Barry also made money by writing ads for various commercials. He also sang many of these songs. He later said that his time writing songs helped him become a successful pop singer.
By the late ’60s, Barry had landed a record deal with Tony Orlando, vice president of music at Columbia/CBS. Although he initially failed to make much of an impact on the mainstream music scene, Manilow took a big step forward when he became a pianist for Bette Midler, with albums such as “The Divine Miss M” and “Bette Midler” accompany her. This earned Barry a Grammy nomination in 1973. Also in 1973, he released an album of the same name, followed by a breakthrough album called “Mandy” in 1975. This was included on Manilow’s second album, Barry Manilow II.
After releasing “Mandy,” Manilow maintained a string of hits over the years. These are included on multi-platinum albums such as “Tryin’ to Get the Feeling”, “This One’s For You”, “Even Now” and “One Voice”. He also became a popular entertainment figure, starring in the 1985 TV movie Copacabana.

Ironically, while Barry is a very talented songwriter, most of his hits were written by other people. Manilow did not write “Mandy”, “Try to Feel Again”, “Weekend in New England”, “Ship”, “Looks like we made it”, “Can’t laugh without you”, “Get ready to take it” again A Chance” and chart-topping “I Write Songs”. Despite the title of the last song, Manilow made it no Writing the song itself — the credit instead went to Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys.
Manilow made a staggering amount of money from live concerts, and in 1984 he put on a sold-out 10-night show that grossed more than $2 million at the box office. He also toured with various Broadway shows and musicals. He continued to release music and compose throughout the ’90s, and in the 2000s released a hit album called “Ultimate Manilow” which was a commercial success. In addition to music, Manilow has appeared on many talk shows, such as “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Legal Issues
In 1994, Barry filed a lawsuit against a Los Angeles radio station, claiming that one of their ads was damaging his reputation. Ads boast that their station is better than others because it doesn’t play Barry Maniello’s music. Ultimately, the radio station agreed to drop the ad.
In 1997, Manilow resolved another legal issue by donating $5,000 to the American Tinnitus Association. Judge Philippe Espinosa has sued the singer for claiming one of his concerts was too loud. Espinosa claimed the music caused a “constant ringing” in his ears.

Barry Manilow has had relationships with both men and women in the past. His first love was his high school sweetheart Susan Deixler, whom he married in 1964. Although Manilow has always stated that he really loves Daxler, he left her a year later in order to focus on his music career. Maniello later had a romantic relationship with the man, although he said his attraction to Susan was sincere and that he did not end the marriage because of his gay feelings.
In 1978, Barry began dating a television executive named Gary Keefe. The relationship lasted until 2014, when the two were finally able to marry thanks to California’s legalization of same-sex marriage. He had previously kept his relationship with Keefe private because he feared that his sexuality would annoy fans — especially his large female audience.

In 1994, Barry Manilow reportedly listed his Bel Air home for $2.71 million. The property was built 25 years ago and has 5,000 square feet of living space. The house, which sits on two acres, also has a guest room, recording studio and theatre room.
