Lil Baby was born Dominique Armani Jones on December 3, 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia. Lil Baby was raised by a single mother after her father left when she was 2 years old. He grew up with two sisters and dropped out of Booker T. Washington High School during his freshman year. In 2012, Lil Baby was arrested on a number of charges, including possession with intent to sell. His lawyers tried to convince him to accept a two-year plea deal, so Lil Baby hired a new lawyer and put him into a program that would only keep him in jail for a year. While on the show, he got into an altercation with an inmate who made racial remarks, and Lil Baby then had to fulfill his original two-year contract. In 2013, he was charged with possession of marijuana, and the following year, he was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Lil Baby started his rap career after two years in prison with Quality Control Music and his own label, 4PF (4 Pockets Full).

In May 2021, on the one-year anniversary of Floyd’s killing, the rapper reunites with George Floyd’s family at the White House.
