Avicii is a Swedish DJ, musician and record producer nominated for the Grammy Awards. He specializes in EDM, avant-garde house music and electronic house music. His records include the albums True (2013) and Stories (2015). He collaborated with David Guetta on the 2012 hit single “Sunshine”. Avicii was originally named Tim Bergling and was born on September 8, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden. His mother Anki Liden is an actor. He has three brothers and sisters, Anton, David and Linda. Avicii’s first studio album, True, was released by PRMD Music and Island Records in September 2013. It is led by the singles “Wake Me Up”, “You Make Me”, “Hey Brother”, “Addicted to You” and “Lay Me Down”. This album features guest productions by Arash Pournouri and Nile Rodgers. Avicii co-authored and produced the single “A Sky Full of Stars” (A Sky Full of Stars) from the sixth album Ghost Stories (2014) of Coldplay. It has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. Avicii’s second album Stories came out in October 2015. It produced 4 singles, including “Waiting for Love” and “For a Better Day”. This album combines EDM, pop dance music and family music. It features Wyclef Jean, Matisyahu and Zac Brown among others. In 2016, Avicii withdrew from live performances due to declining health. Due to excessive alcohol consumption, DJ is still struggling with acute pancreatitis. His parents and three siblings survived. Avicii is 5 feet 10 inches tall and has Swedish descent. He also received the nicknames “Tim Berg” and “Tom Hunts”. Before his death, his personal net worth was estimated at 50 million U.S. dollars.
