ASAP Rocky is an American rapper, songwriter, music producer and member of the A$AP Mob. His studio albums include Live. Love. A$AP (2011) and At. long. Last. Associated Press (2015). Rocky was born Rakim Mayers on October 3, 1988 in Manhattan, New York. His brother “Ricky” was killed in 2002 and his father died in 2012. He has a younger sister named Erika B. Mayers. Rocky grew up in Harlem, New York City. He also lives in various shelters with his mom and sister.

Rocky started his rap career at a very young age. He was inspired by bands such as UKG, The Diplomat and Mobb Deep. The death of his brother also had a major impact on his career path. Rocky joined the Harlem hip-hop group A$AP Mob in 2007. Other members include A$AP Ferg, A$AP Nast, A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Bari and A$AP TyY. Co-founder and music executive “A$AP Yams” passed away in 2015. A$AP Mob’s first official mixtape, Lords Never Worry, was released by ASAP Worldwide in August 2012. Their debut studio album, Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends (2016), released 4 years later. The album peaked at number four on the U.S. rap album chart. It features guest appearances by artists such as Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty and Playboi Carti.

Rocky’s solo debut mixtape Live. Love. ASAP, released independently in 2011. First studio album “Long”. live. A$AP (2013), released by Polo Grounds and RCA Records. It debuted on the Billboard 200. The album sold over one million copies and was certified platinum by the RIAA. It was led by the singles “Goldie”, “Wild for the Night” and “Fashion Killa”. The single “Fuckin’ Problems” starring Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar won several awards, including Best Collaboration. Rocky’s sophomore release, in. long. Last. A$AP, declined in May 2015. It spawned the singles “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2)”, “Everyday” and “LSD”.

Rocky played “Dom” in the comedy “Dope” (2015). The film is directed by Rick Famuyiwa and produced by Forest Whitaker and Nina Young Bon Jovi. His film credits also include Zoolander 2 (2016) with Ben Stiller, and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016) with Andy Samberg. He voiced the character “Falcon” in the Marvel Avengers Academy video game.
