April Ross is an American beach volleyball player and 2009 world champion. She was born to parents Glen and Maggie on June 20, 1982 in Costa Mesa, California. She has an older sister named Amy. Ross attended Newport Harbor High School and then the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in International Relations.

Rose is competitive in multiple sports including basketball, volleyball and track and field. She won the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award during her senior year of high school. Rose continued her volleyball career at USC, where she led the team in scoring, offense and kills. She was named the Pac-10 Rookie of the Year in her rookie season. She went on to earn First Team All-American honors in 2002 and 2003.
Rose played alongside teammate Jennifer Kessy from 2007 to 2013. The pair competed at the 2009 World Championships in Norway and won multiple titles including gold. They also won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Rose’s current teammate is fellow American Kerry Walsh Jennings. They plan to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
