Anne Leonard is an American businesswoman, activist and film producer who has a net worth of $2.8 million. A proponent of American sustainability and a critic of excessive consumerism, Anne Leonard earned her net worth. She is also known for her controversial animated film “The Story of Matter” about the life cycle of material goods.

Anne was born in Seattle, Washington in 1964 and graduated from Lakeside School. She also holds an undergraduate degree from Barnard College and a graduate degree in urban and regional planning from Cornell University. She lives in the Bay Area with her daughter Dewi, born in 2009. After The Story of Stuff, she made several other documentaries about things such as; 2009’s cap-and-trade story about emissions trading and 2010’s bottled water story, cosmetics story and electronics Product story. On March 11, 2011, she released a new documentary, The Story of Citizens United v. FEC. Leonard is also a co-founder and coordinator of GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives) and serves on the boards of the International Globalization Forum (IFG) and the Environmental Health Fund. Some of her previous positions were at Harmless Healthcare, Basic Information and Greenpeace International, and coordinator of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Funders Working Group. Leonard testified before the US Congress in 1992 on international waste trafficking.
