Andrew Cuomo is an American politician who has a net worth of $3 million. Andrew Cuomo is best known as the 56th Governor of New York. He took office on January 1, 2011. He announced his resignation in August 2021 over a sexual harassment scandal. Andrew is the son of the late former three-term New York Governor Mario Cuomo and brother of CNN reporter Chris Cuomo.

Back in 2010, when he was New York State Attorney General, Andrew released his first detailed report on personal wealth. According to the report, Andrew earned $1 million a year as a consultant to real estate mogul Andrew Farkas in 2004 and 2005. His 2013 financial disclosure report stated that his net worth ranged from at least $1.75 million to $3 million. His 2015 disclosure revealed that he had $650,000 in book royalties on his memoirs. In 2020, he was paid $5 million for a book on leadership during the COVID crisis. He reportedly received an upfront payment of $3 million and hopes to receive another $2 million over time.

Andrew Mark Cuomo was born on December 6, 1957 in New York City, Queens, New York City, the son of attorney Mario Cuomo, who would become a three-term governor of New York and Mattie Matilda Cuomo. Mario Cuomo’s parents, Andrea and Immacolata Cuomo, both immigrated to the United States from Italy. Andrea immigrated in 1926 and Imakolata in 1927. His brother Chris is a reporter for CNN. His sister Maria Cuomo Cole is a socially influential filmmaker for Cuomo Cole Productions and is married to fashion designer Kenneth Cole. His other sister, Margaret, is a doctor. The Cuomo family is of Italian descent. Andrew’s grandparents were from southern Italy and his maternal grandparents were from Sicily. Andrew graduated from St Gerard Magella School in 1971 and Molloy Archbishop High School in 1975. He received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in 1979 and his Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School in 1982.

Andrew Cuomo was his father’s campaign manager for New York’s gubernatorial campaign in 1982. Once Mario Cuomo was elected, Andrew joined his father’s staff as a policy advisor for a salary of $1 per year. Andrew Cuomo served as Assistant Attorney for the New York District from 1984 to 1985. He also briefly worked at the law firm of Blutrich, Falcone & Miller. He founded the Low Privilege Housing Enterprise (HELP) in 1986 and left his law firm in 1988 to run HELP full time. From 1990 to 1993, Cuomo chaired the New York City Homeless Commission, which develops policies to address homelessness in the city and develop more housing options.
In 1993, Cuomo joined the Clinton Administration as Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Cuomo was Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 1997 to 2001. He ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2002 and served as New York State Attorney General from 2006 to 2011.

CUOMO is the 2010 Democratic nomination for governor and Republican Calgalardino. He was re-elected for the second semester in 2014. In 2018, in the 2018 Gubernatorial election, Cuomo challenged actor and activist Cynthia Nixon on gender and city on left, left. Cuomo defeated Nixon by 65.53%-34.47%. In November 2018, Cuomo was re-elected in the votes of any governor in the main and general elections, defeating Republican challenger Molinaro, and defeated the Republican challenger with a 59.6%-36.2% profit margin.
During his tenure as governor, Cuomo oversaw the passage of a law legalizing same-sex marriage in New York; formed the American Climate Coalition, a group of nations committed to fighting climate change by following the terms of the Paris climate agreement; passed some of the strictest gun controls in the U.S. Medicaid expansion; new tax law raising taxes for the wealthy and cutting taxes for the middle class; a $15 minimum wage, the nation’s strongest paid family leave program; wage equality; and legislation legalizing medical marijuana. Cuomo introduced the Excelsior Scholarship in Budget 2018, a provision that allows families earning less than $125,000 in 2019 to receive free tuition at all SUNY and CUNY colleges.

In 2003, Andrew wrote a book titled “Crossroads: the future of American politics”. In 2014 he wrote “Anything is possible: setbacks and successes in politics and life”. It was later reported that hardcover sales of the book were less than 4,000 copies.
In October 2020, Andrew published a book titled “America’s Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic”In March 2021, the New York Times reported that Cuomo had been seeking an advance payment of US$4 million for the copyright of the book, which was eventually acquired by Crown Publishing Group. Crown would not confirm or deny the advance payment of just over $4 million, as their sources said, when The New York Times asked for comment. The Times article further stated that Cuomo used his staff to help sell the book, apparently less than 50,000 hardcover copies.
Book income
Tax records will show later that Andrew will earn about $5 million from the book, about $3 million in 2020, and another $2 million over the next few years. The same tax records show Cuomo donated $500,000 of the proceeds to charity and put another $1 million into a trust fund for his daughters.
Unfortunately for Mr. Cuomo, in December 2021, the New York State Ethics Oversight Agency passed a resolution requiring Cuomo to give all the money he earned from his memoirs to the state’s attorney general within 30 days. The oversight body, known as the Joint Committee on Public Ethics (JCOPE), is the group that originally allowed Cuomo to write the book. JCOPE also offered Cuomo several conditions, and got their approval. One of the conditions is “State property, personnel, or other resources may not be used in activities related to this book.“
It was later revealed that Cuomo did use government aides during work hours to help produce, write, research and edit the memoir. Cuomo vowed to oppose the order in court.

Andrew was previously married to Robert Kennedy’s daughter, Kerry Kennedy. They were married on June 9, 1990. They have three daughters: twins, Cara Ethel Kennedy-Cuomo and Mariah Matilda Kennedy-Cuomo (born 1995) and Michaela Andrea Kennedy-Cuomo (born 1997). They separated in 2003 and divorced in 2005. He began dating Food Network host Sandra Lee in 2005, and they moved in together in 2011. The two live in Westchester County, New York. In September 2019, the couple announced that they had ended their relationship.
On July 4, 2015, Cuomo officiated the wedding of his longtime friend Billy Joel to his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick.
In March 2020, CNN’s brother Chris Cuomo interviewed Cuomo about the coronavirus outbreak. Andrew discussed New York’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, noting the possibility of imposing a curfew to keep residents indoors. “I don’t like the word curfew. Dad tried to impose a curfew for me, but I never got over the resentment,” Andrew said. Chris replied: That’s the least of your questions, your curfew question. Just let you know. Resign
On August 10, 2021, Andrew announced his resignation as governor after a sexual harassment scandal marred much of the final months of his term. A few weeks ago, the New York Attorney General released a report saying Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and retaliated against a former employee. For months, he has been facing calls to resign. Compounding his problems is the controversy surrounding public reporting of nursing home deaths at the height of New York’s COVID crisis. The Attorney General has claimed that the Cuomo administration underestimated the number of deaths in nursing homes by 50 percent.
