PhD in Economic Sciences from St Petersburg State University. He started his career in 1993 with the founding of the open joint stock company LSR Group. Over the years, the company has become one of the leaders in the real estate and building materials sector in Russia. In 2007, he took it public and later served as Vice President at VTB, managing infrastructure projects. In politics, he was first appointed in 2007 as Assistant Minister of Public Health Service and Social Development of the Russian Federation. Today, he is the head of the Economic and Political Committee of the Russian Federation Council. Outside of his busy work schedule, Andrei Molchanov is a husband and father of four.
