He was Executive Manager of Tubacex SA from 1965 to 1980 and then Deputy Manager of Banque Vizcaya from 1981 to 1983. Next, Abad was CEO and Chairman of Banco de Catalunya from 1983 to 1988, then CEO and Chairman of Banco Bilbao from 1988 to 1993 in Bis open. From 1993 to 2002 he was Chairman of the Spanish Bank of Credit, then from 1998 to 2002 as First Deputy Chairman of Inmobilaria Urbis SA. Alfredo joined Santander in 1994 as a board member.
