Alana Masterson is an American television actress. She is best known for her role as “Tara Chambler” in AMC’s The Walking Dead. Masterson was born on June 27, 1988 in Long Island, New York. Her mother, Carol, is a filmmaker and her father, Joe, is a former rugby player. She has four siblings, Christopher, Danny, Jordan and Will. Masterson grew up in Los Angeles, California. She studied at the New York Film Academy in New York City.

Masterson became interested in acting after filming with her brothers. She was on the cover of Parent magazine as a child. Masterson made his debut in the 1994 TV series The Boy and the Restless. She was voted “Colleen Carlton” until 1995. She guest-starred as “Heidi” in the in-between series Malcolm (2006), Greece (2008) as “Alanna”, and Grey’s Anatomy (2008) as “Hilary Boyd”. She played the role of “Abby” repeatedly in 7 episodes of Day 1 (2010). The show was canceled in 2011 after its second season.
Masterson played “Dora Bell Hutchinson” in the drama “Peach and Pear” (2011). The film also stars Tyler Blackburn and Alex Bay. Masterson made a cameo appearance in “Mopey Hipster Girl” in the TBS series The Man at Work (2014). She frequently played “Lydia” on the ABC series Mistresses and “Kiara Johnson” on the comedy series Younger. She played “Alanna Meadows” in the movie Afraid (2018).
