Alan Gerry net worth
Alan Gerry Net Worth: Alan Gerry is an American businessman with a net worth of $1.4 billion. Cablevision pioneer Alan Gery founded Cablevision Industries (CVI) in the early 1970s and has made a fortune ever since. A World War II Marine veteran and owner of a TV repair shop, Gerry first began building a cable network in upstate New York in 1956 to increase demand for his televisions.
The original system he created could only transmit five channels at a time, although there were seven available networks. As a result, Gary frequently switches channels for the entire region, primarily a news program for a Yankees game, and vice versa. Over the years, CVI has grown and by the 1990s had established 18 networks from New York to Florida. In 1996, Allen handed over CVI to Time Warner for $2.8 billion, earning $900 million in the process. Calling himself “Country Boy,” he purchased and restored the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival. Additionally, he founded the Gerry Foundation, which aims to stimulate economic activity and revitalization in Sullivan County, New York.
