The Indiana Pacers selected the 18-year-old with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 1998 NBA draft.
He played for Indiana from 1998 to 2004, then for the Atlanta Hawks before returning to the Pacers. Since then, Harrington has played for the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. As of the fall of 2014, Harrington was playing for the Fujian Sturgeon in China. Harrington played in 55 NBA career playoff games; he led the Indiana Pacers to the deepest in 2004, when the team had a 16-game lead. The 6-foot-9, 245-pound power forward/small forward was the 1998 Naismith Reserve Player of the Year and the 1998 USA TODAY Player of the Year. During his NBA career, he was involved in several trades: in 2004, he was traded to Atlanta for Stephen Jackson, and in 2007, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors along with Stephen Jackson and several other players. Harrington later made a four-team trade with the Orlando Magic in 2012.
