Adam Clayton is a British-born Irish musician with a net worth of US$400 million. Since the band was founded in 1976, Adam Clayton has been the bassist of the successful Irish band U2. In their careers, so far, U2 has sold 170-200 million albums worldwide. The band also conducted some of the most profitable world tours in music history.
early life
Adam Charles Clayton was born on March 13, 1960 in Chino, Oxfordshire, England. His father was a pilot in the Royal Air Force until the transition to civil aviation. His mother was a flight attendant before giving birth. When he was four years old, his father was hired as a pilot for East Africa Airlines and the family moved to Nairobi, Kenya. The band released their first studio album “Boys” in October 1980, and reached the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. He and Mullen produced the soundtrack for the 1996 film “Mission Impossible” directed by Tom Cruise. Like all U2 band members, Adam owns real estate all over the world. Since 1984, his main residence has been a large castle called Danesmoate House on the outskirts of Dublin. He bought the castle in 1984 for 380,000 pounds, which was unheard of in Ireland at the time. The band recorded their album “Joshua Tree” at the castle in 1986.
