2 Chainz is an American rapper and a member of the hip-hop duo Playaz Circle. He was formerly known as Tity Boi. His studio albums include TRU Based Stories (2012), BOATS II: Me Time (2013) and Pretty Girls Like Trap Music (2017). 2 Chainz was born on September 12, 1977 in Tauheed Epps, College Park, Georgia. He has a younger brother named Dimatri. Epps attended North Clayton High School, followed by Alabama State University. He played college basketball and college basketball.

2 Chainz and rapper Dolla Boy formed the hip-hop duo “Playaz Circle” in 1997. His nickname at the time was “Tity Boi”. His notable mixtapes include TRU REALigion (2011), Daniel Son; Necklace Don (2016) and Hibachi Lunch (2016). His debut studio album, Based on the TRU Story, was released in August 2012 by Def Jam Recordings. It has sold over 600,000 copies and is certified platinum by the RIAA. The album was led by Drake’s single “No Lie”, Kanye West’s “Birthday Song” and “I’m Different”. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. It was also named the 25th best hip-hop album of 2012 by Spin Magazine.
In September 2013, 2 Chainz released his second album BOATS II: Me Time. It sold 63,000 copies in its opening week. The album was supported by Pharrell Williams’ single “Feds Watching”. Production by Mike Will Made It, Diplo, Drumma Boy and a few others. 2 Chainz’s other albums include ColleGrove (2016) and Pretty Girls Like Trap Music (2017). Both albums sold far less than his first two solo projects.
